♦ secretly based his hero costume on Hitomi's - thinks it was sneaky, but anyone who sees the two of them can make the connection.
♦ occasionally calls the two scientists "mom" or "dad", sometimes without even noticing (they pretend they don't notice either).
♦ his favorite flavor of swiss roll cake is chocolate.
♦ he had significantly less muscle and height in his first year, so his original hero costume was planned to have longer shorts and tights. However, when it started to get smaller, he liked the new look better, and so had it modified to look like it currently does.
♦ can't whistle.
♦ his given name was given to him at the orphanage, but his family name was picked by Haruka and Hitomi.
♦ often uses his quirk to propel himself into the air at high speed towards school, because walking is for scrubs.

Allows him to switch the direction of the gravitational pull on an object or person, including himself. This can be used for a maximum of five minutes in a row, and for only one or two objects at a time (depending on the size and weight of the objects).

\\personality

Red Square Bullet Honest || Kind || Laid-back || Insensitive || Blunt || Determined || Impatient || Nosy Red Square Bullet

Jinta is, first and foremost, incredibly laid-back and relaxed. That doesn't mean he's lazy; much the contrary, he's incredibly determined. He's not the type of person to get very worked up over anything, but he'll put all the effort he needs to (and more) into achieving the things he wants. Sometimes this leads to him being impatient, as he often wants things to happen more and faster instead of having to wait. Having been homeschooled for a large part of his life, he lacks a bit of social experience, often coming off as insensitive or blunt. It's not out of ill will; he rarely notices he's said something that could sound mean or rude until after he says it and notices the reactions of others. He tends to be honest, and while he doesn't hate lying, it's more like he has trouble doing it; he hesitates for a moment before he tells a lie, so people that know him have an easy time catching it whenever he's not telling the truth. Regardless, he isn't a big fan of lying, so he doesn't do it often, anyway. He's a kind person who tries his best to help and be useful to others, and sometimes even goes to the point of being nosy when he thinks someone needs help.

\\history

Jinta was born as an accident, to a couple that did not want children - despite the fact that his mother refused to stop the pregnancy, they both knew they couldn't keep or sustain a child, and so Jinta was abandoned at the door of an orphanage when he was only one week old, and, as a result, never met his parents.
His childhood at the orphanage was mostly unremarkable - he learnt to let go of his family situation fairly quick, and made friends with the other children there. His days were all plain, but he was happy in a simple way. He discovered his quirk at the same time as a bunch of other children who were about his age, and was amazed at the power it held. The kids often used their quirk to play pranks on each other, and Jinta's favorite was to shift another kid's gravity center to align with a wall, so they'd be stuck walking on walls for a bit. It was stupid, and silly, but he appreciated that sort of simple existence.
However, when he was eight years old, things suddenly changed. Two scientists, the heads (and, truth be told, only staff) of a prestigious laboratory in that same city, came to the orphanage, intending to adopt a child to raise as an assistant. They carefully interviewed every single child, asking them questions about difficult subjects and about their life motivations and such. Jinta wasn't the smartest kid in the orphanage, not by far, but the two scientists must've seen some sort of potential in him, because they chose him as the child to adopt.
His life changed drastically from then on; the two scientists, Hitomi Hoshimaru and Haruka Shirogane, were studying quantum physics, complex mathematics, and the possibility of time travel, and needed someone that was capable of helping their research. The two of them had been best friends since high school, and didn't want to let some stranger into their research, so they'd decided to adopt a child instead - after all, how hard could it be to raise a kid and teach him quantum physics in the process? Jinta was homeschooled by the two of them until he began middle school, being taught sciences, math, and languages by the two scientists, who were both very well-versed in a lot of subjects and very intelligent. They turned Jinta, an average child from an orphanage, into an intelligent boy with better-than-average knowledge in many sciences. They especially focused on teaching him physics and math, as they felt that, if he had a deeper understanding in those two, he could have a deeper understanding of his own quirk as well.
Haruka had a boyfriend that lived with him, but Hitomi lived alone in a large apartment, so they decided it was best if Jinta lived with her - after all, they couldn't just leave him at the lab! - and so he grew naturally closer to her. She was a pro Hero, and one that was full of spirit at that, so Jinta began to look up to her. He'd never considered his quirk to be battle-oriented, but Hitomi's was not, either, and in his eyes she was an amazing hero.
In his last year of middle school, he made his choice; he'd apply for the prestigious Iro Academy, and become a pro Hero as well. Haruka wasn't too happy with the idea; they'd adopted this child to help on their research, not follow your footsteps into idiocy, Hitomi, but Hitomi was beaming, and fully supported his decision, so much that Haruka had to give up his ideas about having Jinta skip high school and go straight to a good sciences college.
Jinta applied to the Academy and easily passed the entrance exams. He'd never thought about his physical aptitude much, but the exams opened his eyes, and he began training harder than ever to make up for his quirk's lack of offensive with physical strength. Before he noticed it, two years had already passed, and he's ready to do his best in his senior year to become as strong as he can.

"See you later, Mo-- I mean, p-professor Hoshimaru!" Jinta tried to quickly catch himself, but it was too late. The clear laugh of the scientist rang through the kitchen, and she waved at him, holding up her coffee mug with the words "World's #1 Mom" printed in large black letters. He knew she'd only bought it to taunt him, but it was still so unnerving...! Oh, well, whatever. He had to go, or he'd get to school late. He waved back at Hitomi before opening the living room's window, and jumping out of the 5th floor apartment.
The feeling of using his quirk never got old; first, he was falling, and then, suddenly, a feeling of floating ran through his body before he began to fall again; only this time, he wasn't falling down. Everything flew by rapidly as Jinta fell through the sky in the direction of the school; buildings, streets, people. It never really got boring to look at people's surprised faces as he flew past them, but he had to focus on his falling direction, or he might end up falling - he found this out the hard way. Thankfully, the one time he'd lost focus and dropped his quirk had been when he was flying close to a building's rooftop, so he was able to land without any serious damage - a sprained ankle was light in comparison to what could've been a broken arm or leg. It happened soon after he'd adopted this manner of going to school, during his first year, and it'd taken him a while to trust himself to use his quirk over a long distance again, but after he'd gotten used to it again he'd never wanted to walk to school again.
When Jinta was getting close to the school's front entrance, he let go of his quirk and landed on the ground - he couldn't fly past the entrance, after all, he had to verify his student ID - but once he was in he once again focused his power on flying towards the third-years' floor, more specifically his classroom's window. He made sure to land slow - another broken window was the last thing he needed - and knocked on the window to get the attention of one of his classmates so they'd open the window and let him in. The window was soon open, and all he had to do was to stop his use of his quirk while he was standing in the windowsill, and jump into the classroom, and he was set. Just had to sit down in his desk and wait for the bell to ring.
